HOPEWELL, Hanover — The race for the other three places in the semi-finals of the Jamaica Football Federation Western Confederation Charley’s JB Rum Super League is expected to go down to the last game as at least six teams are still in the hunt.

Faulkland FC ensured a third straight trip to the semi-finals on Tuesday after a 1-0 win over Falmouth United at Jarrett Park to improve to 33 points and extend their lead over defending champions Wadadah FC by five points.

Ewan Barton’s seventh minute goal was the difference between the teams as Faulkland FC stretched their unbeaten run in the regular season to 13 games.

A decision by the Competitions Committee to award points to Hopewell United from their second round game against Reggae Youths that had originally ended in a draw saw the Hanover-based team jump to 23 points, one more than Sandals South Coast.

Falmouth United and Harmony FC are also on 23 points, with dark horses Grand Palladium on 20 points.

Hopewell United with a game in hand against Lucea United, could end the weekend in second place, but face Faulkland FC at home at the Orchard Sports Complex on Sunday.

Wadadah FC the mid-season champions will be at home to Lucea United at the UDC field on Sunday; Falmouth United will hope to rebound from their loss when they host Sandals South Coast, while Harmony FC are away to Grand Palladium at Rusea’s High.

On Saturday Reggae Youths will face Granville United who are desperately seeking to get into the top six and avoid relegation.
