Run Thatcher Run begins Classic quest

RUN Thatcher Run , the victor in the top two-year-old race on Boxing Day 2018, after dealing with an injury issue is all set to make what maybe considered to be a late introduction to his three-year-old career.

Run Thatcher Run is down to participate in an Optional Claiming event over six furlongs (1,200m), where he is slated to run against older horses for the first time.

The analysis of the 10 horses nominated follows in post-position order.

1 – FIVE STAR: (5.dkb. g – Traditional – Jadore) – Was a late non-starter for fractious behaviour on March 16 and needs to sort out this issue to aid his cause of winning.

2 – GO GO GIRL: (4.dkb/.br. f – USA Courageous – Grand Attraction – Has been regaining form of late and the hope is that this trend is going to continue.

3 – STORM: (4.b. g Natural Selection – All For Pleasure) – Simply put Storm cannot manage these.

4 – SMOKEY TOPAZ: (7.b. g – Liquidity – Millennium Princess) – Has to climb a mountain to win here.

5 – CRUCIAL APPEAL: (9.ch. g – Crucial Trial – Late Appeal) – This old stager still packs a lot of speed and if allowed to use this speed unattended then it is going to prove very difficult pegging him back.

6 – WARTIME: (6.ch. h – War Marshall – Time Crisis) – Even with the cheek pieces off Wartime will be hard pressed to win here.

7 – AMERICAN INVADER: (3.ch. f – USA Biondetti – Bluegrass Atatude) – The trainer of this importee has taken off the tongue tie and put on the Figure-8. American Invader is developing the reputation of been a speedster who shuts off rapidly in the straight. Her chances of winning this one is low.

8 – CORALANDO: (6.b.g – Outrigger – Islamorada) – Trying his best to become acquainted with Overnight Allowance without much success. Note first time Lasix.

9 – SUBBIE: (5.b. g – Deputy Glitters – Anna) – Still learning the tricks of the trade in Overnight Allowance.

10 – RUN THATCHER RUN: (3.ch. c – Fearless Vision – Ahwhofah) – Makes his long-awaited seasonal entry after dealing with a setback earlier in the year. Run Thatcher Run has not been pushed hard at exercise with this run looking more and more like a step towards a higher goal. Nevertheless, Run Thatcher Run is fit and ready and is unbeaten in his two starts to date and had the much thought of Supreme Soul behind by ½ a length over a mile in December of last year. It is going to very interesting to see how he handles this assignment. So, let’s wait and see.
