67-y-o American man dies in Manchester crash
MANCHESTER, Jamaica — An American man died Wednesday after sustaining injuries in a motor vehicle collision on the Content main road in Manchester.
Vernmon Francis, 67, of Middleton Street, South Carolina, was driving along the roadway when he reportedly swerved the vehicle to avoid colliding with an oncoming motorcar, which was heading towards Williamsfield.
He however lost control of his vehicle and the two collided.
The police said the driver of the oncoming motorcar had reportedly overtaken a line of traffic.
Francis, his passengers and the other driver were all taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead, whilst the others have been admitted in serious condition.
The incident took place about 7:00 pm.
