Qualcare hosts KC track coaches
Kingston College’s track and field coaching staff were hosted to ‘thank you’ and celebratory luncheon last week by pharmaceutical and consumer products distributor Qualcare Ltd.
The fact that KC won this year’s ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys’ Championship with the highest score ever — 395.5 points — in the event’s history was a highlight of the luncheon held at the company’s headquarters at 78a Hagley Park Road, St Andrew.
Qualcare Managing Director and CEO Robert O’Sullivan, who was captain of KC’s first swimming team that won the schoolboy swimming championships in 1970, was more than overjoyed to host the coaching staff that included Shawn Francis, Darren Daley, Leaford Grant, Hugh Powell, Hamlin Pagon, and Canninga Raynor, as well as KC Principal Dave Myrie who presented the company with a plaque in recognition of its contribution to the school’s boys’ champs victory.
The event was also used to recognise the school’s Manning Cup victory in the 2019 schoolboy football season, especially because throughout the season Qualcare supplied the team with intrust, the nutrition shake the company distributes islandwide.
Qualcare was founded in July 1999 and commenced operations in March 2000. The founding directors were previous employees of Novartis Pharmaceuticals, with a combined experience in the pharmaceutical industry of over 40 years. They were instrumental in building their organisation and driving Novartis to the forefront of the pharmaceutical industry in the Caribbean.
