Performance analysis for Saturday, April 20, 2019

RACE 1-$650-600,000 OPTIONAL CLAIMING (3YOS&UPWARDS) 1300METRES 6 1/2FURLONGS

With the withdrawal of odds-on ante post favourite Bad Boy Trump there was no competition for Superbolt who led comfortably and was always clear and won by 4 lengths.

RACE 2-$450-400,000 OPTIONAL CLAIMING (3YOS&UP) 1820METRES/9FURLONGS&25YARDS

Ballon D’or, running as though something was amiss easily gave up the lead 1,100 metres out to Council of Trent who had no answer for Burlin’s sharp inside move to win by 10 ½ lengths.

RACE 3-RESTRICTED ALLOWANCE V (5-YEAR-OLDS&UPWARDS/NW2) 1400METRES/7FURLONGS

Alexa’s Star led into the straight before being overtaken by Chief of State who went well clear to score by nearly 7 lengths with Secret Law second.

RACE 4-RESTRICTED ALLOWANCE V (5-YEAR-OLDS&UPWARDS/NW2) 1400METRES/7FURLONGS

General Mubaraak swerved right in the first few strides causing Astro to fall and also caused serious interference to Lady Budget and was duly disqualified from the race. Paintthistownred raced into a comfortable lead, hotly pursued by First Selection but ran well in the straight to beat the unlucky Lady Budget by 1 ½ lengths at odds of 39/1.

RACE 5-LADY GEETA TROPHY GRADE I (THREE-YEAR-OLDS&UPWARDS) 1200METRES/6FURLONGS

Horse-of-the-Years 2017 and 2018, She’s A Maneater and Will In Charge respectively failed to concede significant weight. Tactically, Chace the Great, who performs best when held up, led once again, turned for home clear was caught close to home by Another Bullet whose strong late surge got him a lead of ¾ length at the line.

RACE 6-RESTRICTED ALLOWANCE IV (5YOS&UPWARDS/NW3) 1300METRES/6 1/2FURLONGS

Although slowly into stride, Bad Gal Hillary sprinted into the lead but was overtaken by Twilight Eruption and Sunshine Cat entering the last 200 metres. Makhi broke well and was taken off the pace but mended steadily throughout gaining late momentum to sweep by the battling leaders 50 metres and score by just over a length.

RACE 7-RESTRICTED ALLOWANCE IV (4YOS&UPWARDS/NW3) 1300METRES/6 1/2FURLONGS

Golden Destiny took full advantage of his speed and perfect stand side post position to make all the running, getting home by 2 lengths over Formal Gladiator with Quantum Dancer’s late run good for third.

RACE 8-MAIDEN CONDITION RACE (THREE-YEAR-OLDS ONLY) 1700METRES/8 1/2FURLONGS

Black River was turned out in unbeatable condition by her trainer and made all the running to win conservatively by 7 lengths over promising Ali and one-paced favourite Scoobert.

RACE 9-RESTRICTED ALLOWANCE II (THREE-YEAR-OLDS/NW2) 1000METRES/5FURLONGS ROUND

Both Universal Boss and Roy Rogers were slow to begin while Just Trick Me, chased by Enedina turned for home on top but dropped away tamely. Enedina ran well inside the last 200 metres to score by just over 2 lengths from Reggae Gone Grammy’s wide late effort.

RACE 10-$250-200,000 CLAIMING (FOUR-YEAR-OLDS&UPWARDS) 1400METRES/7FURLONGS

Ridden to lead early, favourite Bay Commander led on the bridle and went clear early in the home stretch to beat wide-running Bigbrowngreyhope by 1 ¼ lengths with No Money Friend third.
