Fraser-Pryce, Thompson headline Penn Relays teams
PHILADELPHIA, USA — The Jamaican senior teams will hope to improve on last year’s single win in the ‘US vs The World’ relays during the 125th Penn Relays at Franklin Field on today’s final day of the three-day event.
The Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association named a strong 32-member team on Wednesday to take part in three relays— 4x100m, 4×400 and the Sprint Medley relays against international teams, led by host the USA, Canada, Kanya and The Bahamas.
Jamaica won one relay last year, when the female 4x100m team of Gayon Evans, Kerron Stewart, Schillone Calvert-Powell, and Jura Levy ran 43.14 seconds to beat two American teams and Guyana to retain the title they won the previous year, winning it for the seventh time overall.
Jamaica will field two teams in both 4x100m relays and one each in the 4x400m and the Sprint Medley.
