Cabana Beach Daze kicks off at Blue Waters Sunday, May 19
FALMOUTH, Trelawny — The highly anticipated all-white soiree, Cabana Beach Daze, is set to kick-off this year’s series at its home venue, the Blue Waters Beach Club in Trelawny, on Sunday, May 19.
After a successful double staging last year, that included Falmouth and Ocho Rios, a first in its three-year run, the fifth edition will retain all its original elements, including its all-white, all-inclusive and beach party vibe.
Western Jamaica-based promoter, Warren Clarke of Hundred Promotions, is pleased with the success and growth of the brand, and is looking forward to this year’s staging.
“Last year was really good for us, we were able to pull off a double staging and the reception was extremely positive. We are opening the series at home and the support from Trelawny, and from the west in general, has always been good for us. Our focus has always been to provide quality entertainment and food, backed up by awesome décor and we are sticking to that,” Clarke stated.
“Patrons can expect to experience a wow-effect, and in going forward, that’s exactly how we are looking to keep it,” he stressed.
“Ascend Innovations will be responsible for our entire production outlay, from décor, screens, lighting, stage and overall event execution. We are excited with this new addition, and we are expecting that this will allow us to deliver even more on the experience to our patrons.”
DJ Dutty Dex from Miami and local favourites DJ Nicco and Jigga will handle entertainment duties, while the all-inclusive features will also include several food stations serving up Jamaican and Chinese dishes and wraps, courtesy of new Montego Bay eatery, Wrap ‘n’ Roll.
“We are excited with the growth of the brand, it’s a part of the tourism product for Falmouth and this is one of the ways in which we are helping to build the parish,” he noted.
“We are reaching beyond our borders as well, Ruth-Ann Brown, a student at UWI Western, Jamaica Campus, and a member of our promotional team, unexpectedly passed earlier this year. She was responsible for a reading programme at Whitehouse in Montego Bay, and we’ll be donating from proceeds to continue her initiative in memory of her.”
Clarke said his team has listened to patrons, hence the improvements in a number of areas for this month’s staging of the Cabana.
“Our patrons are loyal, we listen to their feedback, they have stuck with us and so creating the best party experience we can deliver is our first priority,” he argued, adding that “we have expanded our food court and gotten creative DJs with varying styles to add to the experience.”
Cabana Beach Daze is scheduled for 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm and early bird tickets for $4,000 are available at Pier One and Fontana Pharmacy in Montego Bay; Parts to Go in Falmouth; TK Raffine in Ocho Rios and 876 Terrace Bar and Grill in Kingston.
Deluxe Cabanas attract a price tag of US$700, while Sand Cabanas are for US$550, which are all available with amenities and premium liquor.
