My Super Girl slated for stud duties
MY Super Girl galloped into Overnight Allowance with a commanding win in a Restricted Allowance event at Caymanas Park last Saturday. Nonetheless, her racing life could be cut short as stud duties beckon.
Prepared for racing by Philip Feanny for owner 2Penyu and running with a glint in her eyes over the six-furlong (1,200m) call, My Super Girl demonstrated her obvious class with a time of 1:12.4 while recording splits of 22.3, 45.4 to register her fourth win from 12 career starts.
Notwithstanding, this could be the filly’s final year as a racer due mainly to multiple problems getting her from effectively fulfil her racing obligations.
A well-bred chestnut filly by Market Rally out of the Royal Minister mare Supa Lei, trainer Feanny was comforted by her victory but expressed doubt about her continue racing into the future.
“She ( My Super Girl) has a lot of problems. The first one was running off the racetrack and we had to correct that. Then she had a back problem, she has her problems but we will try to let her see out the year and then put her to stud next year,” Feanny said.
