Vere United and Wadadah FC hunt the final Premier League promotional spot when they play Molynes United and Downs FC, respectively, in the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) Play-offs. Match times are 3:30 pm.

Former two-time Premier League champions Wadadah, which last won the league in the 1991-92 season, will be desperately depending on Molynes United to help them return to top flight football.

Molynes United, with 15 points, have already qualified, but second-placed Vere United (13 points) and third-placed Wadadah (10 points) will be looking to join them.

Clarendon-based Vere United need only a draw to secure promotion, while Wadadah will be hoping to firstly beat Downs FC, and hope that Vere United lose at home to Molynes United to surpass them on goal difference.

Only three goals separate the teams, with Vere boasting a plus 13 while Wadadah have a plus 10. But more importantly Wadadah have scored more goals, so a 2-0 win for Wadadah and any defeat for Vere would be good enough for the St James outfit.

With that said, it is expected that Vere will do enough to secure the second promotional spot as Molynes United will still be in celebratory mode following their historic qualification to the Red Stripe Premier League, hence the more hungry Vere should win, especially playing at home.

Meanwhile, Wadadah, who scored 13 goals in their last two games against Lime Hall FC and Faulkland FC compared to only four goals in their first three games, should again have a goal feast against a Downs FC team sitting second from bottom with one point and totally lacking in motivation.

With that in mind, it could be nervous times at Wembley Centre of Excellence in Hayes, Clarendon, for Vere United as Molynes United might be motivated enough to want to top the group and maintain the dominance of the Kingston and St Andrew teams.

The third match-up is a meaningless one, and it pits Faulkland FC in fifth spot on four points against a Lime Hall in sixth spot on a point. Both teams have nothing to play for and it will be a painful encounter at Jarrett Park in Montego Bay.
