BASED on the provisional list of 11 starters, the nine furlongs The Viceroy Trophy set for Sunday, June 30, the day after the Derby is run, racing fans are in for an explosive treat.

It is one of the rare races these days run over nine furlongs coming out of the chute, and with Horse Of The Year, Will In Charge and his main nemesis She’s A Maneater entered, that alone would entice even those not closely connected to racing.

Then when you add, Bigdaddykool and the precocious new talent Stranger Danger, the pot is stirred for even more excitement.

To cap off the lot already mentioned, there is also Houdini’s Magic who won this same race last year, beating both Will In Charge and She’s A Maneater in the process.

On Derby Day itself, there is an enticing sprint for the three-year-olds over six furlongs.

The likes of God of Love, Father Patrick, Toona Ciliata, Lady Blue, Rojorn Di Pilot, Prince Charles and Universal Boss are entered in this budding sprint fest.
