Gage headlines 8ight 7even 6ix

Hitmaker Gage is among the highlights at next Sunday’s staging of the 8ight 7even 6ix. The cooler fete is scheduled for the Police Officers Club on Hope Road in Kingston.

This will be the event’s second staging and, according to event spokesperson and director, Sheldon Taylor, patrons can expect a premium experience.

“We want to continue to provide a premium party experience for our loyal patrons and new ones whom we anticipate will be attending this staging. This is the first time that we doing a cooler theme with this particular brand. Over time, we have seen a rise in cooler events as persons like to stack their coolers with their favourite drink of choice and having a great time with friends. We encourage them to do so responsibly all the time,” Taylor told the Jamaica Observer.

The occasion will also feature the musical juggling of DJ Richie Ras, Hyperactive Sound, and ZJ Ice.

Gage, who has been riding high with the chart-topping single Good Body Girl Fi Get Tings, said he is ready to unleash his catalogue of songs.

“We always look to our ladies when booking performers for our events. And Gage was the artiste mentioned most, which we suspect is because of his current hit song, seemingly the anthem for the ladies. He also has some buss blank songs that the ‘gennas’ can hold a vibe to. So basically, his versatility made him a solid pick for the event,” said Taylor.

Wray & Nephew White Overproof Rum is the title sponsor for the event.

Said Taylor: “We want to big up Wray & Nephew for coming on-board, for seeing the vision and investing in it. We cannot stress this enough, we want our patrons to indulge in the festivities, however, we strongly encourage all to indulge responsibly. Walk with a designated driver because we want you to get there safely and get home safely.”

The first 8ight 7even 6ix was held at the St Lucia Car Park in New Kingston in March. Based on the support and feedback, the promoters decided to position the event as a premium one.

Taylor explained what makes the event unique.

“We are using a venue that has not been used in quite some time, so right off the bat we are offering a new scenery, we are also a fraction of the cost of most other events, we are offering reasonably priced cabanas, and we also have a top artiste performing. Everything about this event screams affordable and value for money and with a setting that usually cost upwards of double what we are charging.”

8ight 7even 6ix is a joint promotion between Team JA, promoters of 90s Recall and Wealth Events JA.
