The rare occrrence of a horse being disqualified from first place, because the jockey was not in the saddle at the time when they passed the winning post, occurred last Saturday (June 22) at Caymanas Park.
The horse in question was Abogado and the rider, apprentice Kiaman McGregor.
The Supreme Racing Guide’s photographer, Naphtali Junior was on spot and caught the moments leading up to and after the bizarre incident.

The official snapshot from the photo-finish camera shows McGregorcompletely out of the saddle with the winning line not far off.
McGregor stretched out on the track, can consider himself lucky, as horse number fourNehemiah with Phillip Parchment in the saddle, goes by agonisingly close.
Jockey Osive Donegal on #15, Heart of Rome is seein pulling on his mount in order toavoid hitting McGregor, who is on the ground.
Fortunately, theyoung apprentice isable to get up andwalk without anynoticeable signsof injury. In fact,he was able tocontinue his ridingassignments.
