One further step for Hilly’s Halo
The trek by imported chestnut filly Hilly’s Halo to reach the highest grade in local racing continues tomorrow with the American seeking her second win in the Open Allowance class.
Hilly’s Halo races against five rivals over 7 ½ furlongs (1,500 metres).
The chances of winning by Hilly’s Halo and the other five runners are explored below.
1 – HILLY’S HALO: (4.ch. f – Kantharos – Halo Jezabelle) – Talented importee who was a magnificent come-from-behind winner over six furlongs (1,200 metres) when last at the races on June 15. Then Hilly’s Halo beat Patriarch and Exhilarate. Now she goes longer which should not be an impediment and with the patient Anthony Thomas in the saddle again, Hilly’s Halo seems all set to ease into Grade One. Very difficult to oppose.
2 – UNCLE FRANK: (5.dkb. g – Storm Craft – Dusty Milly) – Did well when finishing second behind Houdini’s Magic on June 5 over 8 ½ furlongs (1,700 metres). Uncle Frank carries the top weight here but is so tough and resilient that he is sure to have a strong influence on the outcome.
3 – HOVER CRAFT: (9.b. g – Heistherealthing – Royal Pizzaz) – Has not excited this season and the task of winning this one is way off.
4 – ZEPHYR: (6.ch. m – Nasheet – Rushing Force) – A winner when last at the races on June 1 in Overnight company and has since graduated to Open Allowance. While Zephyr is now without a chance of winning, she may need time.
5 – PATRIARCH: (4. b. c – Casual Drink – Electrifying) – Has not raced this long for quite a while as Patriarch has developed a reputation of being a sprinter. That being said, he is the lone speed in this encounter tomorrow and if left unmolested will make the most of it.
6 – UNCLE VINNIE: (5.dkb. h – Bridled Quest – Kathythetrainer) – An upset winner on June 22 over this same distance but in the Overnight grouping. Now Uncle Vinnie goes up a notch and should again play second filly to his stablemate, Hilly’s Halo.
