Man shot dead, alleged accomplice in custody
KINGSTON, Jamaica — A man was shot dead following a break-in on Studio One Boulevard in Kingston yesterday, while his alleged accomplice was taken into police custody.
The dead man is yet to be identified.
The Jamaica Constabulary Force’s Corporate Communications Unit said the body is of dark complexion, stout build and is about 175 centimetres long and was clad in a black T-shirt and blue jeans.
Reports are that about 12:20 am security guards responded to a break-in in the area when they were approached by three men.
It is alleged that the unidentified man pulled a firearm and the security guards responded, opening gunfire at the group.
The now deceased was shot and the teen apprehended.
The police were alerted and the unidentified man was seen with gunshot wounds. He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
A teen was taken into custody and an imitation firearm was removed from the scene.
The third man is still at large.
