VIDEO: Dunn’s Electrical, Lighting & Home Décor

Dunn’s Electrical, the authority on lighting in Jamaica, has evolved into an all-inclusive home centre, and, during its first turn hosting Design Week Ja 2019, showcased all the multi-level store has to offer, including Dunn’s Home Centre, which supplies furniture and fixtures for every room in the home. Design Week loyalists visited the store on 15 3/4 Red Hills Road for its maiden foray into Conversations in Design.

Under the theme ‘Great Style At Every Age’, the conversation got underway with interior designer Joelle Smith sharing tips on how to design on a budget, by way of an interactive session that saw guests walking with her from one professionally designed space to another. Smith showed just how simple it was to curate chic accommodations without breaking the bank.

Event and hospitality consultant Shikima Hinds discussed the importance of allowing one’s personality to reflect in the spaces they design. The ‘Glam Room’ — designed by Hinds herself — served as the focus of her presentation, providing the perfect visual.

With several floors to explore, guests enjoyed hors d’oeuvres from the resident chefs at the Dunn Nice Deli and sipped on Beringer wines from the Sippin Wine Bar before indulging an early afternoon shopping spree.
