Weekly Round-up: JUTC drivers strike… NWC debt write-off… 9-y-o washed away… Briana reprimanded
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Jamaica Urban Transit Company resumed full service on Thursday following a two-day strike by some of its drivers over safety concerns, stemming from the shooting death of one of their colleagues along Oxford Road in St Andrew Monday night.
Meanwhile, the National Water Commission on Tuesday said it will write off more than $150 million owed by customers in areas severely affected by recent water lock-offs and major roadworks.
And, a nine-year-old boy was washed away by floodwaters in August Town, St Andrew on Wednesday.
In sport, double Under-20 World champion Briana Williams was on Thursday cleared to compete by the Independent Anti-Doping Disciplinary Panel (IADP), which ordered that she be reprimanded without any period of ineligibility in her doping case.

IAAF World Championships currently underway in Doha, Qatar.
