23-y-o man held on two counts of shooting with intent
ST CATHERINE, Jamaica — The St Catherine North Police say they have arrested and charged a man in relation to a shooting incident that took place on Big Lane in McCooks Pen, St Catherine on Thursday, May 30.
He has been identified as 23-year-old Jaharrie Laing, a farmer of Mason River, Clarendon and McCooks Pen.
Reports from the Spanish Town Police are that about 11:00 am two men were walking along the roadway, when they were fired upon by Laing. The men managed to escape unharmed and an intense investigation was carried out. Laing was arrested and placed on an identification parade, where he was positively identified and subsequently charged for two counts of shooting with intent.
A court date will be announced at a later date, the police said.
