Molynes continue to impress with 1-0 RSPL win
Newcomers Molynes United’s impressive start to the Red Stripe Premier League season continued on Sunday, as they defeated Mount Pleasant Football Academy 1-0 at Waterhouse Stadium in St Andrew.
It is the sixth straight victory at the start of the season
for Molynes, which was accomplished through a Ryan Brown’s 38th
minute strike that carries them to maximum 18 points at the top of the points
standing.
Waterhouse follow in the standing on 13 points but playing
one match less with Humble Lion third on nine points from six matches. Arnett
Gardens are fourth on eight points with the top six being completed by Cavalier
and Portmore, both on seven points but with goal difference separating them.
On Sunday, a Stephen Williams’ 34th minute strike
and a penalty from Keithy Simpson in the 73rd minute secured a 2-0
victory for Waterhouse at Mona Bowl, while Humble Lion defeated neighbours Vere
United 1-0 virtue of Leonardo Jibbison’s goal in the 69th minute at
their Effortville Community Centre base.
Vishinul Harris scored in the 45th minute and
Jovani Simms in the 78th as Arnett Gardens defeated Cavalier 2-0 at
the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex as Tivoli Gardens and defending champions
Portmore United played to a 1-1 draw at the Edward Seaga Sports Complex. Rushane
Spence gave Tivoli the lead in the 27th minute with Shai Smith
cancelling in the 49th.
