Glossier: Skincare first, makeup second

Trying out new makeup is a stressful process for beginners; knowing what’s your shade, to trying to carve your brows out may sometimes leave you in tears.

Well, Glossier is one beauty line you can’t go wrong with. The brand offers a new approach to beauty, that promotes a natural make up look that is all about self-acceptance and being okay with your true self.

Glossier was founded by Emily Weiss in 2014, in New York where she came up with the philosophy ‘skin first and make-up’. The company is now worth over a billion dollars with a cult following of millennials who are drawn to a natural, dewy, perfect skin look. The brand is mainly focused on skincare and makeup but has also dabbled in fragrances.

Glossier isn’t just another beauty brand – it’s a lifestyle. It’s allowing yourself to be vulnerable and not accepting the beauty standard the world wants you to accept – it’s rebellious. It’s not about perfecting how you look but adapting and giving you the glow that you need to start your day.

Glossier is famous for its products brow boy, perfecting skin tint, cloud paint and their dew effect highlighter Haloscope duo.

The products are even used by celebrities like Yara Shahidi, Beyonce, Solange, Tracee Ellis Ross and Sza. Glossier is definitely a top tier brand that I wouldn’t pass up an opportunity to give it a try.
