Stranger Danger could contest Graded Stakes event ahead of Diamond Mile
Morning line favourite for the US$115,000 (over J$14 million) Diamond Mile event Stranger Danger might get another run before the November 9 race as he headlines a field of nine runners provisionally entered for a Graded Stakes event to be run on October 21.
The Graded Stakes (Grade 1) for three-year-olds and upward will venture over 5 ½ furlongs (1,100m) for a purse of $1.3 million.
Stranger Danger, a winner of nine-consecutive races from as many starts, last raced on day two of the LASCO Distributors Limited-sponsored Superstakes weekend of racing on Sunday, October 5. The American-bred colt slammed rivals by seven lengths in the Invitational Mile in a new Stakes Record of 1:36.3 minutes to confirm his status as probably the best horse in training at present. Stranger Danger has stable companion Mr Universe, Uncle Frank and Hover Craft as backup. The likes of Money Magnet, Exhilarate, Chace The Great and Peking Cruz should make the race interesting.
