Another Bullet in Diamond Mile – trainer Lynch says more needed
Trainer Patrick Lynch says that racing would be much more alive if there were more Diamond Mile race days on the local calendar.
This year’s Diamond Mile racing weekend is set for Friday, November 8 and Saturday, November 9 with the Diamond Mile itself listed for competition on the Saturday.
“The introduction of the Diamond Mile by organisers is a good thing for racing. Everyone looks forward to this race day with great anticipation and a lot of excitement which is very good as well.
“I truly support the Diamond Mile and to me, if we could have like 10 races like this each year then that would revive the racing industry,” Lynch told The Supreme Racing Guide.
Lynch saddles Another Bullet in this year’s Diamond Mile, after gaining automatic entry after landing the recent LASCO Food Drink Caribbean Sprint Championship over six furlongs (1,200m) on October 5, 2019.
Seeking My Dream won the first two Diamond Mile races in 2015 and 2016 and She’s A Maneater made it three from three for Wayne DaCosta with a victory in 2017. Will In Charge won last year’s event.
“As far as Another Bullet is concerned, let’s see how things go from here on. If we win, we just win. I am going to take it step by step with Another Bullet. Right now, the sprint champion is in good nick and should perform well in the Diamond Mile,” informed Lynch.
