Red Stripe Premier League giants Portmore, Arnett clash tonight

Red Stripe Premier League giants Arnett Gardens and Portmore United will duel on Monday (Oct 21) at the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex at 8:35 pm.

Both are in the middle of the points standing with Portmore on 10 points and in the seventh spot. Arnett are one place below on eight points. Waterhouse lead the standing with Molynes United second. Both are on 19 points.

With the other teams ahead of them closely bunched together,

a victory for either Arnett or Portmore will catapult them in a major way up.

A victory for Portmore will move them into third position, ahead of Harbour View, on 12. A win for Arnett will carry them to 11 points and depending on the margin, can move them into fourth, ahead of Cavalier, who are on 11 points, the same as Humble Lion. Portmore have the fifth-best record playing away, although it’s a measly four points, which is the same that Arnett have playing on their home turf.

Portmore have won the league the most times with six victories, while Arnett have won the title five times, which is the same as Tivoli Gardens and Santos.
