Two St Catherine men charged under the Firearms Act
KINGSTON, Jamaica —Two St Catherine men are to face the court on charges under the Firearms Act, following their arrest by the St Catherine South police in operations on Friday, October 18.
Charged are 29-year-old Andre McKenzie, a barber of Watson Grove, and 21-year-old Adrian Boothe of Newlands in Portmore.
Reports from the police’s Corporate Communications Unit are that McKenzie was arrested when a Sig Sauer pistol was found during a search of a house he occupied. The police said the pistol, which had a magazine containing three 9mm rounds of ammunition was seized and McKenzie was subsequently charged with illegal possession of firearm and ammunition.
Meanwhile, Boothe was accosted, searched and a .45 pistol with four rounds of ammunition taken from him by a police team that was on patrol.
Both men are expected to appear in court at a later date.
