Dear Editor,

I love reading a great story that warms my heart and brings me renewed hope, especially in my country, Jamaica.

The story headlined ‘Victoria Jubilee Hospital does it again’ was carried in the Jamaica Observer on Friday, October 18, 2019.

I would personally like to congratulate the team of doctors, nurses, anaesthesiologists, everyone who successfully performed, for the second time around, a much-needed blood transfusion on an unborn child, whose mother was facing severe pregnancy-related complications.

As we acknowledged and celebrated those who made us proud on Monday, October 21, 2019, surely this team of doctors and nurses are indeed heroes in their own right.

In spite of the negatives plaguing our country, a beacon of light shines through almost daily with stories like this.

I pray for the continued health and well-being of both mother and child as the doctors monitor to ensure that they both remain stable.

As a country, let’s continue to pray for our beloved nation as we strive to make Jamaica a place to live, work and raise families.
