Leading Ladies
After 30 years of pioneering the participation of women in the global Kiwanis movement, the all-female Kiwanis Club of New Kingston began a new chapter this month with the induction of the the 2019-2020 administration led by new President Dr Adella Campbell, associate professor and head of the Caribbean School of Nursing, University of Technology, Jamaica.
The wet weather of the evening did nothing to dull the shine inside the Legacy Suite of the Jamaica Pegasus hotel. Sparkling decor, elegantly dressed guests, and cheerful conversation characterised the swanky event as the service organisation celebrated the symbolic passing of the presidential baton and the start of a new year of plans and projects.
Guest speaker was obstetrician and gynaecologist Dr Michael Abrahams, and Lieutenant Governor Barrington Whyte issued the formal charge of office.
The Jamaica Observer shares highlights from the evening.
