Dancehall artiste Shenseea celebrated her son’s fourth birthday on Sunday, and the artiste wrote a very emotional message on her Instagram page where she credits the success of her career to his birth.

Shenseea had her son, Rajeiro, when she was 19 years old and said she faced many struggles as a teenage mom.

“Dropped out a college for financial problems, being a single parent, with just 90-100 JMD in my bank account of all the saving I did from my 9-5 job,” she wrote.

 She said that she started writing songs while she was on maternity leave.

“I started writing songs almost every night for three months at 2-3 a.m. when you’d wake up for ya feeding and couldn’t fall asleep after I’d rock you back to bed,” she said.

Although she admitted some songs she wrote were, well, not quite good, her new role as a mom motivated her to continue chasing her dreams.

“I wanted to start chasing my real dream because having you gave me a different drive, confidence and bravery…. over time I got better with practise and by you were five months old I released my first single ever ‘Jiggle Jiggle’ then four months after I got my breakthrough in the industry officially as an artiste,” she wrote.

The Blessed artiste is now living her dream life, and we can all say thanks to Rajeiro – her Kryptonite.

“God knew my intentions were pure, and he knew I was not worried because I put all faith in him… Still, I gave you life papa, but really, you gave me mine, the one I’ve always dreamt of,” she wrote.
