Vows – Everlasting Love

US Naval Station Guantanmo Bay Fire Department captain Santoy Lewis and Morale Welfare and Recreation accounting technician Nyoka Hanson are still basking in the aftermath of their nuptials on Monday, November 11, at Hope Botanical Gardens. The attraction was immediate when their eyes locked at a party in 2013. They exchanged numbers, sealing the beginning of their love affair. Indeed, a proposal of marriage followed five years later on Nyoka’s birthday, November 16, 2018.

The ceremony

Witnessed by family and friends, the couple exchanged vows guided by Pastor Miguel Graham where Zania Anderson and her decorating team used shades of mint and silver to enhance the space. Nyoka made her way up the aisle to John Legend’s You & I. She was a picture-perfect bride in a white cap-sleeved beaded organza mermaid gown. Her bridegroom, meanwhile, was smart in an Express suit.

Formalities out of the way, the newly-weds left the altar to Happy by Pharrell Williams.

The reception…

… was held at the same venue under the gazebo where the newly-weds opted for a cocktail style reception with bistro tables and buffet service. The evening continued with the cutting of the two-tiered vanilla cake by Lola’s Desserts and a hearty dinner catered by Bay Catering and Fyah Side. The couple opened the dance floor to Crystal Gayle’s A Long And Lasting Love.Guests, thereafter, joined them and partied into the night.

Santoy and Nyoka honeymooned at Meliá Braco Village.
