Producers pay tribute to Juice WRLD
Jamaican producers Tarik “Rvssian” Johnston and Matthew “Boi-1da” Samuels have paid tribute to American rapper Juice WRLD, who died on December 8 after suffering a seizure at Chicago’s Midway Airport.
“Can’t even believe this, such a good kid, great heart, amazing person and talent….we had such great conversations beyond music. RIP bro,” Boi-1da wrote on his instragram page.
Boi-1da produced the songs Maze and Make Believe both of which are on the rapper’s 2019 album, Death Race For Love. It topped the Billboard 200 Albums Chart in March and has been certified gold in the United States.
Rvssian produced the song Ring Ring which features Clever; it is also on Death Race For Love. On his instagram page, Rvssian wrote, “I wish you never said those lyrics that you wouldnt make it past 21 bro…your words are powerful. Condolences.”
In 2018, Juice WRLD made the prophetic comments on Legends (from his EP Too Soon). The song peaked at number 65 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart.
Juice WRLD’s other hits include Lucid Dreams, Fine China with rapper Future, A Ll Girls Are the Same, Bandit and Robbery. He charted 25 times on the Billboard Hot 100 in less than two years.
The 21 year-old whose real name was Jarad A Higgins was named Billboard’s Top New Artiste at the 2019 Billboard Music Awards in May.
