Toni-Ann’s Miss World win displays the best of Jamaica, says Holness
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Prime Minister Andrew Holness has extended congratulations to 23-year-old Toni-Ann Singh, who today won the 2019 Miss World Crown in London, England.
“Jamaicans everywhere are proud at Toni-Ann’s accomplishment. She displayed the best of Jamaica, extraordinary talent, grace, beauty, humility, confidence and passion. Indeed beauty with a purpose,” Holness said in a statement from Jamaica House.
The Prime Minister noted that “Toni-Ann displayed poise and excellence throughout the competition and her display on the final night for allthe world to see, was superb and well deserving of victory.”
“Toni-Ann represented herself and Jamaica well as she articulately conversed with Piers Morgan, speaking eloquently about her passion and being an example for women. Toni-Ann’s win gives us, so much to celebrate as a nation as we move into the festive season. We can all be proud having displayed the best of Jamaica to the world.”
The Prime Minister added that the Government has supported Singh, who hails from the parish of St Thomas, throughout the competition. He said all Jamaica looks forward to her return to celebrate the win.
