‘Such an incredible journey!’ Beauty darling Yendi Phillips reflects on decade

Former Miss Universe Jamaica Yendi Phillips, as 2019 ends in a day’s time, is reflecting on the incredible journey and her incremental growth as a woman this past decade.

In a pensive and grateful post on her Facebook and Instagram pages on Monday (Dec. 30), Phillips called representing Jamaica at the 2010 grand coronation of the Miss Universe pageant in Las Vegas ‘one of her greatest achievements’ to date.

“Competing in @missuniverse and finishing

as the 1st Runner-Up (second place), making history as #Jamaica ‘s highest ever

placing in the #MissUniverse pageant to date, will hands down always be one of

the greatest achievements of my career!” Yendi exclaimed.

“The past decade has been such an

incredible journey of dreams, growth, aspirations, passion, wins, losses,

milestones, development, expansion, evolution…and this moment here…is where

it all began,” she continued.

I am eternally grateful to each of you and to #Jamaica….the BIGGEST and BEST little island a girl could have the privilege to represent! • • #MissJamaica #MissJamaicaUniverse #MissUniverse #2010 #WhatADecade #Grateful #ProudA post shared by Yendi [I AM] Amira Phillipps (@yendizzle) on Dec 29, 2019 at 3:46pm PST

In the eyes of many, Phillips won hearts

during the 2010 pageant advancing to the final moments before Ximena Navarrete

of Mexico was crowned.

The 34-year-old mother of Isreal ‘Izzy’ McGregor

thanked Jamaica for the privilege to represent her country and for all the

support she has received over the years.

“To each and every one of you who supported

me on my journey…thank you!! To each of you who still remember vividly where

you were on this day in 2010….thank you!” Phillips said.

times. I am eternally grateful to each of you and to #Jamaica….the BIGGEST

and BEST little island a girl could have the privilege to represent!” she

added.

In her own words, the decade has been most fulfilling for Yendi Phillips as the model, fashionista, social media influencer, and television host has toured the world in various endeavours.

The Kingston native has most recently been in

front the camera as host of Healthy Interest, a programme spearheaded by the

National Health Fund (NHF).
