Weekly Round-up: Three killed in Ackee Walk drive-by … Two women killed in Manchester… Reggae Girlz eliminated
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Three men were killed and five others injured in a drive-by shooting on Tuesday night in the St Andrew community of Ackee Walk. The police have since launched a high-level probe into the attack and increased their presence in the area.
On the crime scene, 29-year-old mother of three Shanika Dixon and her friend, Ilara Mullings, were killed in Manchester early Wednesday morning. Hours after the murders, police arrested a man in connection with the crime.
And in sports, the Reggae Girlz were eliminated from the Concacaf Women’s Olympic Qualifiers on Saturday after suffering a 9-0 defeat to Canada in their second Group B contest in Edinburg, Texas.
