NCB reopens St Catherine branches
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The National Commercial Bank (NCB) says it will be reopening its four branch locations in St Catherine, today, in light of Prime Minister Andrew Holness’ decision to lift the lpckdown in the parish.
The parish was placed under curfew on April 15 after a spike in the number of positive COVID-19 cases there.
NCB said its Portmore, St Jago, Linstead and Old Harbour locations will open from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm daily.
The bank also said that the four Corporate Area branches that were impacted by the lockdown, namely the Cross Roads, Washington Boulevard, Windward Road and the University of the West Indies (UWI) branches will also resume operations.
However, the Windward Road, Cross Roads and UWI branches will not offer teller services until Monday, May 4.
NCB said it will continue to carry out enhanced sanitisation of all branches and will continue to observe prescribed safety measures such as social distancing.
As a result, the bank said, only 10 customers will be allowed inside the locations at a time.
NCB reminded customers that in keeping with the directives of the Government, it is mandatory to wear masks when in public.
“During this time, the health and safety of our team members, customers, and fellow citizens are of paramount importance. As a leading corporate citizen, we are committed to supporting all measures recommended by the Government to help stem the spread of COVID-19. As a result, we have found it prudent to discontinue some face-to-face services in all our branches. We have made every effort to ensure that our services remain safe and accessible via our digital channels,” the bank said.
The bank also encouraged customers to avoid long lines and fees by using its digital options such as intelligent ABMs, the NCB Mobile App or its online banking platform at www.jncb.com.
“We urge customers who would normally receive payments via cash and/or cheques from their employers or other third parties to request that payment be made electronically via ACH or RTGS.”
