‘Box Market’ Bridging The Gap Between Suppliers Consumers
Consumerism and commerce have taken on whole new roles in Jamaica during this time of COVID-19. The new normal is defined by social distancing, shopping days, curfew and quarantine, and the methods by which consumers are purchasing food continue to transition. Home and kerbside delivery and online shopping are now thriving, and it is from that that the Box Market concept was born.
Elle Creative Ltd (a new creative collective between Leisha Wong and Elena Lynch), UCA Jamaica (a dynamic youth marketing team) and Brangenic (a digital marketing agency) partnered to create Box Market, a curated experience geared towards bridging the gap between suppliers and consumers. Box Market, true to its name, is a drive-through market that allows Jamaicans to access discounted grocery items offered in boxes by the island’s producers and distributors. Contact-less, hassle-free, and convenient, shopping at Box Market does not require you to leave your car at any time. On Saturday, May 9, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, Mas Camp will be transformed into one big drive-through. Simply drive in, show your pre-order receipt, drive up to our collection points, and drive out!
Patrons are encouraged to order online, choosing from a wide variety of deals, and then pick up at the venue. As the team stands behind the Government to combat COVID-19, the collective is working together to provide opportunities to keep the economy going in the safest way possible.
Vendors for this first edition include CPJ, Pure Country, Chas E Ramson, Honey Bun, The Best Dressed Chicken, JP Tropical Group (St Mary’s Banana Chips and Tortuga Rum Cake), Lasco, Nestlé, Farm Fresh, Bar Code, J Wray & Nephew, and Chillin’ Restaurant.
Sponsors: Pure Country, CPJ Wines, Guardsman, KIG, and Mint Cleaners.
