‘Better Have My Money!’ – Rihanna among richest musicians in UK
Rihanna is the richest female musician, and third wealthiest overall, in the United Kingdom. It’s quite a feat for someone who, for all intents and purposes, is Barbadian.
The ‘Pour It Up’ singer made it to the Sunday
Times Rich List with a net worth of £468m,
or US$573 million,
for the first time after moving to London last year.
The 32-year-old was beaten only beaten by
famed composed Lord Andrew Lloyd-Webber and former The
Beatle singer Sir Paul McCartney, both with fortunes estimated
at £800m.
The list is
compiled by Robert Watts who notes that it has changed a lot from “earls, dukes
and figures from manufacturing and finance”, since first published some 30
years ago.
Watts added
that “Now money is being made in different ways, and by all sorts of different
people – like Rihanna.”
Much of RiRi’s
wealth comes from her successful Fenty brand which includes cosmetics, lingerie
and, of course, records and album sales.
