Inside and outside the House yesterday
Prime Minister Andrew Holness yesterday and during a sitting of the House of Parliment announced September 3, 2020 as the date for Jamaica’s 18th general election since universal adult suffrage in 1944.
Here are some scenes from inside and outside the Parliament.
Olivia “Babsy” Grange, the Member of Parliament for St Catherine Central,and Julian Robinson, MP for St Andrew South Eastern engage in a bit ofbanter with her green scarf and his orange necktie after the House adjournedyesterday. Green is the colour of Grange’s Jamaica Labour Party, whileRobinson’s People’s National Party uses the colour orange.
