Vows – #FaceyForever

Vows – #FaceyForever

And it was happily ever after for Body Contouring by Venposh managing director Venice Anderson who wed her Prince Charming, Rubis Energy Jamaica Limited Senior Retail Area Manager Damion Facey on Saturday, February 13.

Every fairy tale has a beginning, however, and this one was no different.

Love was in the air at Damion and Venice’s initial encounter albeit without the attendant sparks flying. Truth be told, it went horribly wrong!

Did Damion really expect Venice to accept his offer to assist her at a malfunctioning ATM on Constant Spring Road one Saturday morning? “He was wearing football gears, and I didn’t trust him,” she relates to Tuesday Style Vows (TSV).

Their next encounter proved that there is sometimes a second chance to make the right impression. “I was at the Waterloo location of MegaMart doing grocery shopping for my brother,” Venice recollects, “when I felt someone rest their foot on my trolley. I was then asked, “What are we drinking tonight?” I looked up in amazement. Like, who is this guy?

“I was caught off-guard which in and of itself triggered a conversation. He asked for my number, but I took his instead. He walked me to my car and I watched him go to his. It was at that moment it hit me like a bolt of lightning that it was the same guy from the ATM.

“We started dating and soon discovered that we both lived a stone’s throw away from each other.”

The two fell comfortably into a relationship which led to Damion’s proposal on October 6, 2019; a proposal that turned the tables on Venice.

“It was his birthday,” she informs TSV . “I was planning a surprise dinner for him with his friends… turns out I was planning my own engagement party! He asked me to marry him and I said,’Yes!’ In August 2012 they welcomed their son, Aiden.

Here comes the bride….

On Saturday, February 13, friends and family gathered on the lawns of Laughing Waters to witness the nuptials of Venice and Damion.

Major’s Why I Love You signalled the arrival of the bride, who was escorted by her mentor Delroy Josephs. Hers was a spectacular entrance! She wore a Maggie Sottero beaded lace sheath gown with sheer bodice from Bliss Bridal Boutique. Her bouquet of seed eucalyptus, silver dollar, dendrobium, Italian ruckus, and Mancera leaf was the perfect complement. At the altar stood Damion, elegant in a Spokes Apparel tailored white blazer with black velvet lapel and black pants.

The ceremony was officiated by Reverend Donald Williams.

The reception…

…continued at the gorgeous beach property. “Our reception was a whole vibe, with our MC Rayn Dixon entertaining guests with his jokes and activities,” the couple recollects. “It was everything you could imagine a reception to be.”

The evening continued with the cutting of the two-tiered fruitcake by Suei-Ann Lee from Bake My Day Ja and dinner catered by Christopher Marsh. The couple opened the dance floor to Perfect by Ed Sheeran and Backshot She Love by Lady Saw and Spragga Benz.

A romantic getaway will follow at a later date.
