Rebelution makes high debut on Billboard
Not even a number two entry on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart (dated July 3) by American reggae band Rebelution could remove Bob Marley and the Wailers from the number one spot.
The reggae king and his group have been number one on the chart since Billboard revised its chart rules in January 2020. Legend spends a 77th week in pole position.
Rebelution’s In the Moment debuts in the runner-up position with first week sales of 6,038 album equivalent units. Of that sum, 3,452 are pure album sales.
This is Rebelution’s 14th entry on the chart and second time entering at number two. The band’s 2011 EP Remix topped out at number two.
To date, Rebelution has clocked nine number one albums on the reggae table. They include the Grammy nominated Falling into Place, Bright Side of Life and Free Rein.
In the Moment features collaborations with Jamaican artistes Keznamdi, Busy Signal and Kabaka Pyramid. It was released by 87 Music/Easy Star Records on June 18.
