Man charged with abduction, assault at common law
KINGSTON, Jamaica — A St Andrew man who allegedly abducted a woman at gunpoint in Maryland district, Woodford in the parish last year has been charged.
Charged with illegal possession of firearm, assault at common-law and forcible abduction is 26-year-old Jamar Grant of Gem Crescent, 9 Miles in Bull Bay in the parish.
Reports are that on Thursday, November 25, 2021, at about 10:30 pm, a woman was walking in the community when Grant allegedly forcefully restrained her, pointed a gun to her head and threatened to kill her.
The woman reportedly managed to escape harm and reported the incident to the police. Grant, who is known to the woman, was arrested on Sunday, April 10 and charged following an interview.
His court date is being finalised.
