Man injured in Denham Town ZOSO
THE Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) said last night that it is aware of an incident involving the injury of a civilian which occurred in the Denham Town zone of special operations (ZOSO) on Thursday.
“We are cooperating fully with the civil authorities and are carrying out our own internal investigations. As this matter may become litigious, we will not make any further comments at this time so as not to compromise or prejudice either the external or internal investigations,” the military said in a statement, suggesting that the matter involved one of its soldiers.
“Over the past five years the JDF has served the Denham Town community through the ZOSO and remains committed to continuing this service. We ask the residents to continue to cooperate with us as we work to keep them safe and secure,” read the statement, which asked that anyone with information relating to the incident, or any other matter of a security nature, call the JDF Tip Line at 876-837-8888.
This is the second incident involving the JDF in Kingston Western in less than a week. Last Saturday the controversial killing of a resident in nearby Tivoli Gardens saw protests and roadblocks mounted by residents calling for justice.
