Jahmiel’s 16-song set, Legend, misses the sales- and streaming-driven Billboard Reggae Albums chart. It, however, debuts at number six on the subscription-based, sales-driven US Current Reggae Albums chart with first week sales of 74 copies.

Legend is a decent body of work which deserves a listen. Released April 15 via Sweet Music, it features Africa (with Bugle), 7Even Time Rise (with Vershon), Beautiful (with Stonebwoy), Legend (with Masicka), Worthy to be Praised, and Empty Promises.

This is Jahmiel’s sophomore project. On his first time out, he debuted at number six on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart in August 2019 with Great Man.

Still on the US Current Reggae Albums chart, Midnight Rocker by Horace Andy falls to number two, selling an additional 245 copies down from 414 the previous week to bring its three-week tally to 954 copies.

Grammy-winning Beauty in the Silence by SOJA dips one place down to three selling 124 copies. To date, it has moved 6,011 in pure album sales.

Koffee’s Gifted slides down to five with 84 in pure album sales to bring her total to 1,082.

The number one title on the chart is Don’t Let the Sunlight Fool Ya by Manhattan-based ska/reggae/rocksteady/dub band The Slackers, which sold 877 in pure album sales.

Moving to the sales- and streaming-driven Billboard Reggae Albums chart, where Legend by Bob Marley and the Wailers remain unmoved from the number one spot for 120th week.

Shaggy’s Best of Shaggy: The Boombastic Collection is steady in the number two spot, Dutty Classics Collection by Sean Paul is three, and Greatest Hits by UB40 inches up to number four.

World on Fire by Stick Figure is five, Gifted by Koffee backtracks to six, and Set in Stone by Stick Figure is firm at seven.

Alpha by Shenseea is holding at eight, while new at number nine is Don’t Let the Sunlight Fool Ya by six-member group The Slackers. This is the veteran act’s first entry on the Billboard reggae table, in a career spanning 31 years.

The Slackers has released 15 full-length studio albums, eight live albums and three EPs to date. Don’t Let the Sunlight Fool Ya has 12 songs and was released April 15 via Pirates Press Records.

Live at Red Rocks by Rebelution re-enters the chart at 10.

Moving now to regional charts, a cover of the Stylistics’ 1974 hit You Make Me Feel Brand New by Leroy Sibbles and Marcia Griffiths, is number one on the South Florida Reggae chart.

Valley, an inspirational track by veteran singer Richie Stephens, spends a fourth week at the top of the Foundation Radio Network (New York) Reggae chart.
