Police locate man seen in video holding ‘rifle’
Police have located a man who was seen in a video holding what appeared to be a firearm.
“We are still trying to identify whether the firearm is illegal or not because we have not found it yet. The man claimed that he gave the weapon to two youths,” a representative of the Corporate Communication Unit, told OBSERVER ONLINE.
The police had put out a public alert Monday evening asking for the public’s help in finding the man, who was seen walking along a roadway with the object.
They say he is a resident of Old Harbour Bay in St Catherine and is believed to be of unsound mind.
“He was released into the custody of his family as he was not found in possession of the firearm,” the representative said.
Some cops believe the object he was holding is a toy gun.
