CXC oral and practical exams will continue as scheduled says OEC
KINGSTON, Jamaica – The Overseas Examinations Commission (OEC) has sought to remind schools and candidates that the rescheduling of external examinations announced by the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) has exceptions.
According to a release, deputy director in charge of Examinations, Sharon Burnett, said “that only written exams were rescheduled and that all other exams, oral and practical examinations, will continue as is”.
She pointed out further that oral and practical exams started on Tuesday, April 12, 2022.
Candidates are therefore being advised that the Art Production examinations will be conducted on the previously scheduled date. In addition, Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) Visual Arts will begin on Monday, May 2, 2022, and the Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE) Art and Design production will begin on Monday, May 9, 2022.
Burnett said that the exam papers were distributed before the announcement made by CXC.
Practical examinations in Music and Physical Education (PE) and Sport will also be conducted according to the arrangements that have already been finalised and circulated to schools and examiners.
CXC recently announced that written examinations have been rescheduled to Monday, May 23, 2022. The revised timetables will be uploaded to the CXC website, the Online Registration System (ORS) and the student portal.
