Little Kirk’s Mother’s Day wish
IT’S been five months since Little Kirk’s mom, Hope “Tiny” Ambsersley, left home in Savanna-la-Mar, Westmoreland, and has not been heard from since. The pain is more heartwrenching for the singer since today is Mother’s Day.
“Mi wish mi woulda find her. Just to see her and her give her a present and hug her up. It would be a joy to know mi can talk to her and see her,” Little Kirk told the Jamaica Observer.
“Mi jus’ ah hang on and pray, and hope for the best. The Almighty know what is best and if ah so it go, ah so it go; if ah no so it go, well ah no so it go. God’s will will be done,” he continued.
According to police reports, Ambersley, the mother of four, left home on December 26, 2021 and has not returned. She is 5 ft 2 in tall, slim-built and was last seen wearing a brown dress with diamond patterns in black, and a white headtie. She may have lapses in memory. Anyone knowing her whereabouts is asked to call 876-955-2536 or the nearest police.
The Kingston-based singer said his mom lived with her husband and daughter.
“Mi sister ended up leaving the house for a little while, and her husband say: ‘She walk gone somewhere’ and she nuh come back all now. Normally, dat nuh happen. She nuh go weh and nuh come back. She will come back di same day, dem say. But a so much day pass and dem still nuh find her,” he continued.
The matter was reported to the Savanna-la-Mar Police, who went through the community with loudspeakers trying to find her, with no success.
“If mi find her, it would be nice Mother’s Day present for me too.
Mi would ah cook some food fi her too. But right now, nothing at all. No lead. Nothing. It’s beyond my control and mi ah do the best mi can do,” he added.
Little Kirk, whose given name is Kirk Davis, made his name in the entertainment circles as a child star. At 14, he recorded Killer Sound for Winston Riley on the Techniques imprint.
His other hits include Ghetto People Broke, Man In The Mirror, and I Don’t Want to Lose Your Love.
