Say Yes To The Dress

You’ve accepted the ring, set a date, found a venue and selected your bridal party. It’s time now to — you guessed it — ‘Say Yes To The Dress!’ Allow Tuesday Style Fashion (TSF) to ‘fess up to being biased, but wedding dress shopping is the highlight of wedding planning. It also affords the opportunity to experience the magic of couture.

Thanks to Bliss Bridal proprietors Sara and Brian Stanford brides-to-be here in Jamaica and overseas — yes, brides-to-be and their mothers have been known to jet in for the experience — are able to, in the comfort of the well-appointed ballroom of the Jamaica Pegasus hotel, enjoy the unique experience of a trunk show. The Bliss Bridal Trunk Show which was like every other major social gathering placed on a long pause returned on Saturday, May 7. It did not disappoint!

The Stanfords had on display a stellar selection of their best-sellers ostensibly to help brides fulfil that dream of donning their fantasy gowns and with Bliss Bridal being the exclusive retailer for the much-loved Maggie Sottero collection this definitely upped the wow factor. “Maggie Sottero is hands-down the front-runner and a popular choice by most of our brides. For this year’s trunk show they sent us a few pieces which we added to what was already in stock. They have never disappointed,” Sara Stanford told TSF.

Though Maggie may have been the front-runner, the brides-to-be made the most of the other offerings too. Radiographer Janelle Bailey, for example, whose wedding is set for November, shared, “The experience was marvellous, and my consultant was so helpful in assisting me to find the perfect dress after trying over seven gowns. I finally said ‘yes’ to a dress by Martina Liana, which made my day.”

TSF rounds up some of the blissful brides who said yes to the dress.
