JPS Foundation gives more support to CSEC students
THE JPS Foundation has given more support to several students sitting this year’s Caribbean Secondary Examination Council (CSEC) electrical exams.
In addition to sponsorship of $1.5 millon earlier this year to cover the exam fees, the light and power company recently provided roughly 200 students in eight schools with helpful study guides as they intensify preparation in their last lap of studies
The students are from Ferncourt High, Ardenne High, Tarrant, St Catherine High, Manning’s School, Aabuthnott Gallimore High, Cornwall College, and Herbert Morrison Technical High School. Donations were also made to the schools for reuse by other cohorts in the following years.
The free study guide covers effective tips for handling various topics in the exam, a JPS release said.
In the official hand over to students at the JPS New Kingston head office, CEO Michel Gantois urged the students to give their all to the last stages of preparation, “leaving nothing to chance”.
At the same time, JPS Foundation Deputy Chairman Ramsay McDonald and JPS Chief Operating Officer Gary Barrow encouraged the students to strive for excellence and give their all to their academic pursuits.
The JPS Foundation – outreach arm of JPS – focuses on contributing to national development through education and youth development.
