334 new COVID-19 cases, five more deaths
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Jamaica on Thursday recorded 334 new cases of COVID-19 and five new virus-related deaths, bringing the total confirmed cases to 135,997 and the death toll to 3,049.
Of the newly reported cases, there were 200 females and 134 males with ages ranging from one day to 50 years.
The new cases were recorded in St James (49), Kingston and St Andrew (109), St Ann (14) Westmoreland and Trelawny (eight), St Ann (26), St Catherine (65), St Elizabeth (19) Clarendon (18), Manchester (24), Hanover and St Thomas (one), St Marry (four).
Portland was the only parish to record zero cases.
Meanwhile, the latest fatalities are:
· A 69-year-old female from St Thomas who died in September 2021 =
· A 62-year-old female St Thomas who died in September 2021
· A 79-year-old male from St Thomas who died in September 2021
· A 77-year-old male from St Thomas who died in October 2021
· A 67-year-old male from St Ann who died in May 2022
According to the latest statistics from the Ministry of Health and Wellness, the country also recorded 133 recoveries, for a total of 86,683.
The country’s positivity rate from the latest batch of testing is 30.2 per cent.
124 patients are hospitalised, four of them are critically ill.
