New Marshall in music
Wayne Armond
Entertainment, Music
June 9, 2022

New Marshall in music

Although he has hosted a show on Internet radio and worked as a DJ at events in Florida for over six years, Orville Marshall never thought of expanding his role in music until 2021. He launched My MM Productions one year ago to cover various aspects of the industry.

To date, the company has released four projects including songs by Luciano and Wayne Armond.

“Our vision is to create and maintain a virtual space that consistently combines talent, desire and commitment with other essential ingredients such as management, marketing and coaching to produce personal gratification, international recognition and financial success for artistes within our circle of influence,” Marshall told the Jamaica Observer’s Splash.

Initially, My MM Productions focused on artiste management and booking agent services. But that evolved into music production and resulted in a rhythm featuring Luciano and an album/song by Armond.

War A Gwaan by Luciano is recorded on the Transfusion beat which also has Don’t Trust Dem by Stevie Malekuu. Armond’s song is a cover of Chris Stapleton’s version of Tennessee Whiskey, a runaway hit for the American country singer.

My MM Productions has also released Wayne Picks on Alton Ellis, an album of instrumentals featuring Armond’s guitar interpretations of some of the rocksteady legend’s greatest hit songs.

Marshall, who is originally from Kingston, previously worked as an administrator with the Jamaica Golf Association and the Kingston And Saint Andrew Football Association. He and his team have big goals for My MM Productions.

“Our plans for the immediate future are to complete the Transfusion rhythm project, which is an EP with about six songs. Two have been released as singles, two are ready and two are in the early stage of development. Release a few more singles before the end of the year along with some music videos,” he disclosed. “Also, we are building a marketing network that includes of some of the most popular people in the industry and grow our social media presence. This will allow us to perform our other role which is to promote and manage the artistes in our family.”
