The Alsafra provides an opportunity for Miniature Man
The Alsafra Trophy, to be run in honour the outstanding filly who achieved Triple Crown success in 2007, is set for tomorrow, June 11, 2022 at Caymanas Park.
This trophy race is a three-year-old and upwards Overnight Allowance call with eight horses facing the starter going a mile.
Below is the analysis.
1. AMY THE BUTCHER: (4 gr f by Deputy Glitters – Asia’s Dream) – Comes into this race on the back of two impressive wins. Amy The Butcher has shown vast improvement since taking orders from champion trainer Anthony Nunes. Fulfilling her early promise, Amy The Butcher has now reached the Overnight Allowance grade. She may need time to get accustomed to the pace but is ready and can make it three-in-a-row.
2. GAMBLER: (5 b m – Freedom for Jante – Kennisha) – Has no form to recommend.
3. BIG BIG DADDY: (5 dkb h by Natural Selection – Just A Flutter) – Finished fourth behind Go Deh Girl in a five-furlong straight event at the Open Allowance level on May 28. Now down in class for this one, Big Big Daddy is expected to go closer. Note, Big Big Daddy races with the visor off and the blinkers on.
4. EL PROFESOR: (7 b g by Casual Trick – The Principal) – Shows up every now and then with a telling effort but that has not happened in a while.
5. D’S CHOICE: (5 b g by Deputy Glitters – Gaye’s Emblem) – Did well to reach this level, but D’s Choice is going to need time to get acquainted with the pace of the grade.
6. MINIATURE MAN: (4 ch g by Northern Giant – Runaway Gal) – Slowly but sure rounding into form. Miniature Man, on his best day, can dismantle these but we have not seen the best of this gelding in 2022. This is a golden opportunity for Miniature Man to get off the mark as a four-year-old, plus the distance is perfect.
7. MONEY MONSTER: (5 b g by Casual Trick – She’s Traditional) – Finished second to the talented Double Diva 14 days ago when travelling seven furlongs. Money Monster is going to appreciate this extended trip and if he can reproduce his last effort, could prove equal to the task at hand.
8. AWESOME TREASURE (USA): (5 b m by Awesome of Course – Bossy Gal) – Has been campaigning in the grade above without any success. Awesome Treasure faces less competition here and cannot be a chance.
