Market Bag: Tomato and onion prices lower, carrot up at ‘Curry’
KINGSTON, Jamaica – It was a mixed bag in terms of prices at the Coronation Market this week.
Onion and tomato, at $200 and $60 per pound respectively, are among the food items with lower prices this week, while consumers should expect to pay more for carrot at $140 a pound.
“Carrot a move (up), ginger a move and of course ackee… some things down like tomato and (other) vegetables,” vendor Richard told OBSERVER ONLINE.
