#Daddyskincare w/Mark Edwards

Tuesday Style Dryer (TSD) is celebrating dads and their skincare routines for the month of June. Our spotlight today is on Sagicor Life accounting officer Mark Edwards, who is the proud father of three-year-old Kyle. Edwards likes his style and aesthetic like his audits — clean. “I like to keep things simple, fresh, and to the point, so a clean shave and a fresh trim form the foundation of my routine,” he tells TSD. “I also use Soma Glow, a skincare line by a local dermatologist Dr Shani Mortley for almost everything else.”

Ahead, a list of his skincare essentials, plus a straightforward, effective routine.

Happy Father’s Day!

Cleanse

This is the most important step, and a must-do on hectic days. Soma Glow has a very gentle and refreshing cleanser that helps to wake me up. It also has some beads in it that exfoliate dead cells and removes trapped particles. I’m out of that now so I’m using Neutrogena Men Invigorating Face Wash, which gets the job done as well.

Moisturise

The next thing I’ll do when heading out is to massage a few drops of Soma Glow’s Body Glow C-Glow Drops into my face and neck. About four drops are usually enough to moisturise my skin without making it too oily. It also smells good.

Mask (optional)

When I have a little bit more time in the shower, usually at night, I like to use the Rose Gold Face Mask. I rub it on, and shower while it does its thing, then rinse it off last. It’s very soothing, and it leaves the skin feeling very soft and firm.

Scrub (occasional)

This scrub is really for the body, but I sometimes use it on the jaw line and neck area after I shave to ensure that all the excess particles and cut hair are off my face, instead of sticking around to cause hair bumps. It also helps me achieve that extra-clean feeling.

Exercise and diet

While playing with Kyle keeps him active, Edwards, a self-proclaimed foodie, often hits the gym to try to work off some of the consequences of his hearty appetite.
